Mission Statement

B. C. Highland Dancing Association promotes, preserves, and recognizes excellence in Scottish-Highland dance across British Columbia. We advance public appreciation of the arts through high-quality performances, exhibitions, and merit-based competitions. Dedicated to education, we offer structured workshops, seminars, and training programs, while providing financial assistance through scholarships and bursaries to support students developing their craft and maintaining high standards.

BCHDA Membership 

BCHDA Membership is from September through August and renewals are due before registering for the BCHDA Winter Competition Series.  The 2025-2026 BCHDA Family membership fee is set at $70/year.  Teachers can register as a professional for $15/year.

BCHDA Members are required to do 3 hours of volunteer service per dancer (maximum 6 hours per family).  In lieu of volunteering at one of our events, families may opt to pay the $100 "In Lieu of Volunteering" fee.
